To safely decontaminate, de-lag, divorce and demolish a 750,000 litre heavy oil redundant storage tank located within a 3 metre high concrete bund in a live manufacturing plant.
GCM deployed to site with a full time site manager, demolition operatives and machine operatives. The peripheral pipework was cut using cold cutting techniques. Insulation and lagging material was removed by GCM operatives working from a MEWP. The tank was decontaminated and under strict permit conditions the tank was stitch-cut using oxygen/propane cutting techniques and lifted out in sections via a telescopic crane.
Services Provided:
The project was completed on programme, within budget, without incident or injury and to the satisfaction of the HSE, Environment Agency and our client.
